Charitable Beneficiares

The mission of the Sens Foundation is to leverage and provide both financial and in-kind support to registered charitable organizations whose programs focus on improving the quality of life for children and youth. We address needs in the areas of education, health, and recreation. Our vision at the Foundation is "for greater goals" in meeting these needs. Since inception, the Sens Foundation, together with the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, alumni, corporate partners, and fans have raised and dedicated more than $50 million in support to a variety of community initiatives.

In May 2006 Bell and the Sens Foundation made a commitment to raise $1 million for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). The 15th Annual Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic is one of the events that will help Bell and the Sens Foundation to fulfill their million-dollar goal. CHEO is a world-class academic health science centre providing treatment, diagnostic and laboratory services for children and youth aged 0 to 18 years.  In 2007-08, CHEO cared for more than 200,000 young people from a wide area including Ottawa, Cornwall, Kingston and Baffin Island. CHEO houses the Provincial Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health and the Ontario Newborn Screening Program.  CHEO’s Research Institute has more than 225 research personnel engaged in more than $17 million in annual funded research. Funds raised through the $1 million Bell/Sens Foundation partnership helps fund new equipment, education, treatment and research.
