Since 1993, Bell and the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club have teamed up for their prestigious Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic. The 17th Annual Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic is scheduled for Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the luxurious Kanata Golf & Country Club. Over its 16-year history, the Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic has raised more than $1,220,000.

Each year the Ottawa Senators take to the links in support of worthy charitable causes. The tournament features 36 corporate foursomes hosted by Senators team personnel. The day includes 18 holes of golf, a hot breakfast, a deluxe boxed lunch, fabulous participant gifting, the opportunity to win outstanding, 100 level Senators Club seat tickets in the hole-in-one competition, and there are always a few additional surprises. Tournament play is followed by a cocktail reception and dinner at Scotiabank Place. Guests are treated to a one of a kind menu and the evening includes live and silent auctions, raffles, and more.

The Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic is the only event each year to include not only the regular roster of Ottawa Senators players and management but also several NHL hopefuls from the Binghamton Senators. The event sells out early every year.

Bell and the Sens Foundation announced in May 2006 a commitment to raise $1 million for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) over a five-year period. The 17th Annual Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic, which is the club’s first official public function of the season, is one of the events that will help Bell and the Sens Foundation fulfill the million-dollar goal.
