Register your team today for this year's Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival and support the Sens Foundation's commitment to Project s.t.e.p.
In October 2008 the Sens Foundation announced its second-largest financial commitment in its 10-year history, totaling 1.3 million in support of two Ottawa residential youth treatment centres. The fundraising campaign, entitled Project s.t.e.p, is our community's response to addressing the need for residential substance abuse treatment, education and prevention for young people between the ages of 13 and 17.
With the support of community partners, local champions and leaders, this campaign will raise the funds needed to support the development of a comprehensive substance abuse education and prevention program in our high schools, as well as provide specialized treatment and counselling in a 24-hour residential setting.
The Sens Foundation is very proud to be chosen as one of several charitable organizations to receive funding from the Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation. In 1998, a charitable component was added to the Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival raising funds for local charities on an annual basis. The Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation was established in 2003 to help focus and grow the level of community support. The funds raised by this community focused event will help us fulfill our 1.3 million dollar goal.
Register your team today at www.dragonboat.net and join in the fun at North America'a largest dragon boat race festival.
