Walk, Roll & Run

This annual event is ideal for families, individuals, classmates, neighbours, organizations and teams and it is a primary fundraising event of the Sens Foundation for our charity of choice, Roger’s House.

The 2009 event had many successes.  Over $216,000 was raised with almost 600 participants walking, rolling, or running a 2 or 5 km route starting from Scotiabank Place. In six years Walk, Roll & Run for Roger’s House has raised more than $965,000.   Event co-chairs Georgina and Shawn Neville whose two children Christopher and Gillian are patients at Roger’s House, shared their story at the event giving participants a glimpse of the wonderful services being provided at Roger’s House.

Ottawa Senators player Shean Donovan took part in the ceremonies signing autographs for all the participants who then joined in the fun at the Family Fun Zone which included the Sens Street Tour, Little Ray’s Reptiles, a visit from the Ottawa Police Tactical & Explosives Unit, tour of the Ottawa Fire Department Safety House, Spartacat and much much more.

A hearty congratulations and thank you to all of our individual fundraisers including the top three fundraisers Chad Schella, Jeannine Otto and Julie Frey.  Your contributions and the contributions of all of the individual donors will go a long way in providing excellent resources for families at Roger’s House.  Every donation helps !

2009 Prize winners are as follows:

The Sens Foundation would like to thank the over 100 dedicated volunteers who helped on event day including volunteers from presenting sponsor Scotiabank and many volunteers from the Sens Foundation 50-50 program and Roger’s House.

We are already planning for our 2010 event. We've got some great things in the works and some new incentive levels planned with the intent to increase participation.
