Microsoft, in cooperation with the Sens Foundation, is proud to present the 6th Annual Microsoft Golf Classic in support of Autism, on Tuesday, June 30th, 2009 at the Marshes Golf Club. Over the past 5 years, this event has given back over $200,000 to local autism charities, programming and support services.

As always, you should expect a great day of best ball golf and terrific participant prizing.
This year, we have added a new feature! If 18 holes of golf doesn’t suit you, join us for 9 holes of golf at Marchwood (The Marshes 9-hole golf course) and a pedicure, massage, or facial at the Brookstreet’s Au Natural Spa.  The day includes lunch and golf, followed by a cocktail reception, dinner and ceremonies at the Marshes Ironstone Grill for all participants. We’ll have premium live and silent auction items and the special gift our tournament is becoming famous for. Please join us!

THE CAUSE:
Autism affects many people in our community.  Once viewed as a rare disorder, Autism is now recognized as the most common neurological disorder affecting children. 1 in 150 children is now affected and the numbers of children being diagnosed is occurring at an alarmingly rapid rate.

Autism can be treated: With early diagnosis and intensive intervention, these children face a much brighter future. There are few types of families that require more support - at all levels - than the family raising a child with autism. You quickly see the need for guidance, education, financial support, respite, counselling, understanding from others and, most importantly, therapy. Our primary objective is to raise money for local autism organizations that help give parents and family somewhere to turn for support.
